Daniel
Bogdanovic is set to become the first major signing of the
close-season as the naturalised Maltese striker has already
agreed to join Valletta.
Interested
in Bogdanovic, who played for Naxxar Lions last season,
were also Birkirkara and First Division champions Marsaxlokk.
After
playing for Sliema Wanderers last season, Bogdanovic had
joined Vasas SC in Hungary on a free-transfer together with
Orosco Anonam. After playing, and scoring regularly, in
friendly matches, he only made a couple of short appearances
in league matches before having to return back to Malta
when the bankrupt club was no longer able to honour his
contract and pay his salary. The Yugoslav striker joined
Naxxar Lions where he had an impressive season, scoring
eleven goals, although the team was relegated to Division
1.
As part
of the contract, Bogdanovic is bound to form part of the
coaching staff of the Valletta FC Youth Nursery.
